North Georgia Technical College's current enrollment is around 1800 credit students, with approximately 165 full-time faculty and staff among the school's seven-county service area. Dr. Ruth Nichols, college president since 2000, stresses the school's philosophy for students to have fun while they "learn to earn." The technical school will celebrate its 60th anniversary in fall 2003. North Georgia Technical School received college status in 2000, and was the first technical college in Georgia.
