The Municipal Court of the City of Clarkesville has jurisdiction and authority to try offenses against the laws and ordinances of the city. The court has the power and authority to enforce its judgments by imposing penalties as provided by law. The court is presided over by the judge of the municipal court. Court is convened at times designated by ordinance or to keep the dockets current. |

The judge of the municipal court is appointed by the city council and serves at its discretion. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. |
