The Gazebo on the Square has been the symbol of the city of Clarkesville for decades. The original structure used as a trolley stop and meeting place is gone, and the present structure is no longer in the center of the square. It remains as a reminder that trolley service was a major means of transportation before the automobile became prevalent. Clarkesville's history continues into the 21st century, as the gazebo was refurbished in early 2003 and given fresh new life.
