Fire Department

The City of Clarkesville Fire Department (CFD) is located just off the square in Downtown Clarkesville. Our Department, Station 3, is rich in history with the first mention in the City Charter in 1917.

The Department is 30 members strong, with a combination career/ volunteer personnel that provides the following services to the citizens of Clarkesville:

• First Response for Emergency Medical Services
• Fire Suppression
• Fire Prevention and Education
• Extrication
• Hazardous Materials Response
• Water Rescue
• Technical Rescue

The Department has the following equipment at its disposal to aid in their services:

• 3 Pumper trucks
• 1 Ladder Truck
• 1 Rescue /Light/ Air Truck
• 1 Quick Response Vehicle

Clarkesville Fire Department is proud to have earned an ISO rating of 2 in 2016. The Department is active in the community and offers educational programs for schools and youth groups. To contact the Fire Department, please call (706) 754-2024.
