Revitalize Downtown! That's the goal of Clarkesville Main Streen. Each year, thousands of visitors are drawn to downtown Clarkesville to participate in events. With a variety of happenings for all ages throughout the year, Downtown Clarkesville is the place to be for events and entertainment!


Friday Night Flicks
Friday Night Flicks kicked off its fourth season in Pitts Park. A partnership with Cornelia Better Hometown, this signature event entertained over 1200 movie-goers with a movie under the stars. Local non-profits sold concessions.


Magical Gardens of Mauldin
An enchanting event designed to stimulate the imagination of children (and parents!) The Mauldin House Gardens come to life in this magical Fairy and Dragon experience, complete with face-painting, live theater, music, magic and games. This unique event also features a nine foot dragon!


Easter Bunny
The bunny trail ends at the Mauldin House, where hundreds of children gather annually for a picture with the Easter Bunny himself!.


Mountain Laurel Festival
A beloved tradition that has been a fixture in Clarkesville for over fifty years, The Mountain Laurel festival highlights local arts and crafts, food, entertainment, a Kids Zone, Classic Auto Show, historic tours and so much more! The event also features a spectacular evening fireworks show!


A Taste of Clarkesville
A culinary carnival featuring tastes from downtown restaurants, local wineries and nearby breweries. Live music and delicious food all set to a gorgeous fall backdrop in the mountains! Held annually on the last Saturday in September.


Back to School Bash
A free event designed to help students prepare for the new school year. Free school supplies, health screenings, haircuts - as well as fun, games and food. Held on the Saturday before the start of the school year.


Worldwide Photo Walk
An annual tradition that invites photo enthusiasts of all skill levels to walk the streets of downtown, capturing Clarkesville on camera.


A Downtown Clarkesville Christmas
Downtown comes to life with the annual tree-lighting, caroling, hot cocoa and Santa at the gazebo, and the ever-popular Windows at Woods. Combined with the Christmas light contest, extended shopping hours, and the Elves on our Shelves Hunt, this festive celebration brings hundreds of visitors Downtown each year.


Clarkesville Mardi Gras
With all the pizzazz of jazz and beyond the heartiest of parties, Clarkesville brings Mardi Gras to the mountains! Clarkesville Mardi Gras is an award-winning fundraiser designed to raise money for the beautification and restoration of downtown. Complete with New Orleans-themed food, costumes, a live DJ, photo booth, silent auction and dancing, you can see why this event has sold out every year!


Friday Night Live
Held on the third Friday each month from April-September, Friday Night Live is a social event featuring live music, extended shopping and a variety of local specials throughout downtown.


Dinner & A Movie
Grab a bite from one of our local restaurants and watch a favorite flick in Clarkesville’s original movie house- the historic Habersham Community Theatre!
